We are Phil and Naoko, a pet‑loving English & Japanese couple based in Surrey and together we run Pet In Focus, a photography service dedicated to capturing the character, charm and spirit of the animals you love.
I’ve been a photographer for over 25 years, beginning my journey in the days of film as a landscape photographer. Those early years taught me patience, composition and the importance of waiting for the right moment. As the industry evolved, so did my work, expanding into digital photography and filmmaking for corporate clients, magazines and bespoke commissions across the UK.
Throughout my career, one passion has always remained at the centre: animals. Every pet has a personality, and my aim is to capture it.
Naoko shares that same love for animals, and together we bring a calm, caring and intuitive approach to every session. Whether we’re out exploring a favourite woodland walk or creating relaxed portraits at home, our priority is making your pet feel comfortable so their true character can shine.
Pet In Focus is built on a simple belief: great photography comes from connection. When an animal feels at ease, the magic happens and that’s the moment we’re always waiting for.
